Disney Emoji: “As Told by You” Contest Takes Students Behind the Scenes with Disney Pros and Creative Cloud

 Winning students from around the world will spend a week participating in events curated by the Disney creative team at their campus in Los Angeles 

San Jose, CA, U.S.A — February 21st, 2017 — Adobe today announced the launch of the “Disney Emoji: As Told by You” contest in conjunction with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. Five students, aged 18-24, can win a trip to Los Angeles, where they will spend five days with Disney’s marketing and production departments and see how Disney pros use Adobe Creative Cloud to bring their imaginations and creative thinking to life. 

Students can enter the Disney Emoji: As Told By You contest by submitting an original piece of emoji artwork to the contest website that meets the following criteria: 

·         It should be the face of a character from a Disney feature film. 

·         It should express one of the following emotions: happiness, sadness, fear, excitement, or confusion. 

·         It should be static, not animated. 

·         Backgrounds and props may be included in the artwork, but are not required 

While on site at Disney’s offices, winners of the contest will be able to develop artwork for their own emoji character using Adobe Creative Cloud. Winners will have the opportunity to review their artwork with the Disney creative team and receive feedback on their design and creative process. Twenty runners-up will win a year of Adobe Creative Cloud and a Disney prize pack. 

“Students in higher education are bursting with creativity, and the Disney Emoji: As Told By You contest is a way for them to see how the professionals at Disney bring their own creativity to life,” said Julie Smith, Head of Education Marketing, Adobe. “As a company, one of our goals is to cultivate student creativity and prepare them to use these skills in the workforce. We cannot think of a better organization for nurturing creativity than Disney. We are all very excited to start viewing the submissions!” 

Submissions into the contest must be made between February 16 to March 9, 2017. Entries received before or after these dates will not be accepted. Submissions can be made at disney.com/emojicontest. Grand-prize winners must be available to travel to Disney’s creative campus in Los Angeles from May 21–May 25, 2017. See Contest Do’s and Don’ts on the submission website for additional details. 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Enter contest between February 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) PT and March 9, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. states & D.C., Canada (excluding Quebec), the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand who are students between 18 and 24 at time of entry. Limit 1 entry per person. There are 5 Grand Prizes available to be won (ARV: US $5,199.88 each). GRAND PRIZE WINNERS MUST TRAVEL MAY 21 THROUGH MAY 27, 2017.
